Help Prevent the Extinction of More Animals!
1. Endangered Species means the population of that animal is very small and is at risk of extinction.
2. Species that are threatened or endangered mean that they have went through factors like: its habitat is demolished for recreational, or entertainment, a disease has spread, and hazards for these species have continued.
3. Species are considered extinct after no one has seen them for years. Since it takes so long to consider that an entire species is extinct, there could be many species extinct that we don't know about.
4. There could be 30-50% of all species that are heading towards extinction around mid-century
5. 99% of those species at risk are threatened because of our human activities, especially those who take away the animals habitats, bring in new exotic species, and global warming

The rate of extinction is outstandingly high with 100-1,000 or even 11,000 times greater than the normal rate of extinction.

The number of animals that are dying are around 1,000 and 10,000 larger than it should be. Experts say less than 1% of all animals will be leaving the earth every year. With that amount disappearing every year there has been a guess that there are around 2 million different animals on this earth, and each year there are 200-2,000 animals that will be extinct. (The animals shown below are animals that recently have been said to be extinct.)
Most of our animals have been suffering from habitat loss and invasive species for many years now and experts have said that there are a third of (U.S) animals that are in extreme danger for extinction. The National Wildlife Federation has been trying to protect our animals by encouraging a stronger “Endangered Species Act”, put more pressure on the government by holding them responsible for what is happening, get more donations to help, protect, repair, and create new habitats, and stop threats to animals. For Canada instead of the "Endangered Species Act" we have S.A.R.A which stands for "Species At Risk Act." This is to make sure the number of animals disappearing stop, because we want to provide a safe habitat for these animals to live in, as we are the ones that have made animals extinct, endangered, and threatened. (Below are both books about S.A.R.A)
